Practice
Do it now
A few minutes without the video: spot the mistake, apply the fix, pass the challenge.
- Mistake
- Your kick is weak: too much air, soft lips, no attack.
- Fix
- Press your lips, use minimal air, and start with the hit — sharp, like a shot.
- Challenge
- Record a 'before', spend 20 minutes fixing your kick, add the snare (Pf), build B-Pf-B-Pf. Record an 'after' and compare.
Steps
- Record your kick as it is now — that's your 'before'.
- Kick: press your lips like spitting a seed, use minimal air.
- Snare: lips closed, push air through them — 'Pf'.
- Join them slowly: B-Pf… B-Pf…, then speed up gradually.
- Record your 'after', compare, and celebrate your first beat.
