Practice
Do it now
A few minutes without the video: spot the mistake, apply the fix, pass the challenge.
- Mistake
- You learn sounds at random: kick today, bass tomorrow, lip roll the day after.
- Fix
- Go level by level: three basics, a pattern, hi-hat, bass, then everything.
- Challenge
- Level 2 test: hold B-t-Pf-t for 30 seconds without a single slip. If you slip, don't move up a level yet.
Steps
- Check level 1: B, T and Pf — 10 identical of each in a row.
- Set the metronome to 80 BPM — no faster until it's steady.
- Kick on one, hat on two, snare on three, hat on four.
- Hold the pattern for 30 seconds without a slip.
- Don't skip levels: each one builds on the last.
Metronome
80BPM
